Dr. Shiri presented a paper titled " Typology and Analysis of Big Data: An Information Science Perspective" at the 'Internet, Politics, Policy 2012: Big Data, Big Challenges' conference held on Sep 20 - 21, 2012 at the Oxford Internet Institute in the University of Oxford, England. His paper provides a facet analysis of big data key topics and issues and proposed a number of information science research methodologies and study frameworks for exploring, make sense of and investigating big data and its analysis. His presentation also stresses the importance of big data in academic, governmental and business organizations and institutions and the need to develop policies and practices for the effective management and use of big data.
