Andrew Keenan was awarded the Ian Lancashire Graduate Promise Prize for his presentation "Rewinding Time in Video Games to Control Difficulty". The prize is awarded to the top graduate presentation at the Society for Digital Humanities conference. The conference was held at the 2010 Congress of the Social Sciences and Humanities held at Concordia University, Montreal.
In the project, Andrew examined video game interface design and it's influence on player experience. Recent developments in interface design have incorporated time manipulation, allowing players to adjust the difficulty of their gameplay experiences.
This is the second consecutive year a SLIS student has received the Ian Lancashire Prize, with Myah Slade winning last year for her presentation on visual interfaces in health informatics.
