Dr. Ali Shiri gave an invited public lecture at the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee on December 7.
The lecture, entitled "Confluence of Visualization and Semantics: Development of Thesaurus-Enhanced Visual Interfaces for Digital Libraries," focused on the development and evaluation of two prototype thesaurus-enhanced visual interfaces for the Government of Canada portal and the UNESCO digital library collections, with a particular emphasis on the importance of providing users with semantically rich and highly interactive multilingual user interfaces.
