This discussion group was held on May 29, 2013. Faculty who have been successful with resubmitting an unfunded or 4A proposal shared their experiences. Those who served as reviewers for SSHRC offered advice for revising and resubmitting a grant application.

Grant Proposals: How to Write and Argue Effectively

Facilitator: Dr. Roger Graves, Professor and Director of Writing Across the Curriculum

This workshop was held on May 21, 2013. Dr. Graves led participants in step-wise fashion through the development of an argument for a research proposal, including statement of the problem, connecting the problem to society, and establishing a research goal for your project. This session provided practice and discussion to enhance content. Handouts from this session are available through Dr. Graves' website.

She shared tips and advice for positioning research and demonstrating expertise to create a competitive proposal and application.
