Striving to improve health systems
PJ Vasdev, (MPH ‘19) is the recipient of the School of Public Health 10th Anniversary Graduate Award. We asked him what it meant to receive the award and how he hopes to change lives now that he has graduated.
When I received the news that I had been awarded the School of Public Health 10th Anniversary Graduate Award, I was ecstatic and extremely grateful.
Receiving this award and recognition by my school community was such an incredible feeling. In addition to reducing some of the financial burden of graduate school, this award allowed me to concentrate my time and effort on things that matter to myself and my community.
Since graduating, I have joined a management consulting firm and currently work as a management consultant focusing on health-care strategy and operations. In my current role, I have the privilege of working alongside and advising senior leaders and executives at all levels in healthcare (municipal, provincial, and federal).
I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work daily on challenging problems faced by the Canadian healthcare system and strive to make our country’s health-care system even better.
