International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD)
1 December 2023
Dear students and colleagues,
Today, we are reaching out to you in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD), established by the United Nations (UN) in 1992. Since 1992, December 3rd has served as an international day of celebration for people living with disabilities with a focus on understanding, education, and action. This year’s theme is “TBA”. Together, we celebrate this day and we reflect on progress made with a focus on shared hope. Hope serves as our manifestation of shared determination in building progressive change and fuels us in seeking justice to transform oppressive systems that exist.
