Academic Medicine and Health Services Program

Many faculty in the Department of Pediatrics are funded through the provincial Academic Medical and Health Services Program (AMHSP). Prior to July 1, 2017, funding was provided by an Academic Alternative Relationship Plan (Academic ARP).

Participation in the program allows payment for physicians to devote time to teach and conduct research, in addition to being compensated for clinical services. A position with this unique funding arrangement is an attractive option for those who wish to pursue academic careers in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta.
