Application Process
Eligibility:
- At the University of Alberta in a Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada clinical residency OR eligible for conditional acceptance by applying in a sub-specialty Pediatric or Internal Medicine program, pre-CaRMs match results.
- Are in your PGY2 year or later.
- Are interested in taking a thesis-based graduate studies program.
- Have not had a remediation or are going into remediation.
Application Steps:
Step 1 - Letter of Intent
CIP Letter of Intent Form
To begin your application, you must submit a copy of our letter of intent form to pgcip@ualberta.ca. The Letter of Intent must be signed by your current program director as well as list your proposed research supervisor. The letter of intent is used to help us get more acquainted with you and your research and helps to pave the way for your full application.
The deadline for submission for the Letter of Intent is September 30th, 2024.
These will then be reviewed by Dr. McMurtry and you will be sent out a copy of our application form.
Step 2 - Application
Once you have successfully submitted your letter of intent, a form will be sent to you for application. This will include a CIP application form, Canadian Common CV, reference assessments, and university transcripts. The CIP application checklist is essential for reviewing the completeness of your application. This application form is directly pulled from the Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master's Program and therefore can be used to apply when completed.
The deadline for submission for the CIP application is October 31st, 2024.
Step 3 - Acceptance
Application acceptance letters are usually are sent the first or second week of December of the year of application.
Applications submitted in 2024 will be eligible for a July 1, 2025 start date.
