Last Accepted MCAT Test Date
The last MCAT testing date that we will accept for the 2024/2025 application cycle is August 24, 2024. The MCAT must have been written within the last five years prior to application deadline. As such, we will not be accepting scores from test dates prior to October 1, 2019.
When choosing your MCAT test date you should keep in mind that test results must be released to us, entered into your application, and verified in the UAlberta Launchpad prior to the application deadline (October 1, 2024). As such, you should be reviewing the test score release dates when choosing your test date.
The single set of test scores that you submit with your application are the only set of scores we will use. You must meet the minimum requirements in one sitting. We do not require applicants to declare their most recent MCAT test date as long as the test date that they are declaring meets the minimum requirements, and was not written prior to October 1, 2019.
Upload Transcripts to UAlberta Launchpad
For applicants requiring an official transcript, we recommend requesting official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions, that you are done attending, directly from the issuing institution. These transcripts should be sent to the Office of the Registrar at the beginning of September or earlier.
Questions related to transcript items should be relayed to the Office of the Registrar directly.
Transcripts postmarked (via email or mail) on or before October 1st will be accepted.
For applicants currently enrolled in post-secondary, the first week of September is the suggested time frame that updated transcripts showing 1st and 2nd term registration be uploaded to your UAlberta Launchpad. This unofficial transcript must be uploaded to the checklist item "Transcript with 1st and 2nd Term Registration". This item is not applicable to applicants who are not registered for classes during the 2024/2025 academic year.
Please note that official transcripts submitted with any “In Progress” grades are not considered “Final.” So, if you have a Transcript with 1st and 2nd Term Registration, your final, official transcript, associated with that institution, will not be checked off until you complete the academic year and send updated transcripts. However, applicants are encouraged to have their issuing institution send these transcripts as soon as they are available. 1st and 2nd term registration can be uploaded to your UAlberta Launchpad. This unofficial transcript must be uploaded to the checklist item "Transcript with 1st and 2nd Term Registration".
If your institution does not show 2nd term registration on transcripts at this time (ie. McMaster, University of Lethbridge etc) or if you are not yet able to register in 2nd term courses (ie. Harvard etc), please submit via your UAlberta Launchpad: a letter/timetable/screenshot/etc. indicating your 2nd term registration status. Please ensure you include your name, the name of the institution, the term, course numbers/names, and the number of credits for each course that you plan on registering for during the 2nd term if available. Should you upload a 1st and 2nd term unofficial transcript without the 2nd term registration status documentation, your transcript will be deemed insufficient and you will need to provide an updated submission on Launchpad. The 2nd term registration should be uploaded to Launchpad by early January, at the latest, as it must be processed by February 1, 2025. The lack of a 2nd registration will not impact the submission of your application on October 1, 2024. Applicants should upload this information as soon as it is available.
