Licensing Exam Administration
The Health Sciences Education and Research Commons manages various high stakes and large-scale competency exams including Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs), Objective Structured Practical Exams (OSPEs), large scale simulation events, and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs). Exam candidates may be students ready for licensure, practitioners maintaining accreditation, or international graduates seeking Canadian credentials. These exams are used to assess clinical competence at all levels of health education, from first year to licensure in Canada.
To ensure our exam procedures adhere to both provincial and national standards, our project coordinators work in collaboration with; Regulatory Bodies, National Examination Boards, and other Education Institutions and their appointed Chief Examiners, Deputy Registrars, Chief Administrators and Technical Advisors.
Our Site Administrators will:
- Consult with our clients on:
- exam flow, timing, and logistics
- staffing requirements
- financial reporting
- Recruit:
- examiners in collaboration with the Examining Board
- standardized patients (SPs) in collaboration with Standardized Patient Trainers
- exam invigilators
- Coordinate:
- meetings
- registration
- documentation
- security
- confidentiality
- catering
- video recording
- electronic scoring
- post exam reporting (financial and administration)
- Exam Administration:
- manage all exam day operations/communication between clients and team members
- manage all exam day operations/communication between clients and team members
Our Simulation Space has:
- 24 clinical rooms
- 17 additional multipurpose spaces
- B-Line clinical skills recording available in 24 clinical rooms
- automated and portable timing systems
- props and equipment
- secure storage of exam materials
- overall locked facility
- observational control room for quality assurance
