Welcome to EnggTALK4!

We wish we could see you in person for EnggTALK 4, but we are excited to share EnggTalk - the film. Watch the short film and hear from four engineers as they recount the lessons learned, challenges faced and the inspirations along their personal career journey. 

 

Cameron Franchuk holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in civil (structural) engineering  from Engineering at Alberta. He is a civil engineering sessional instructor and a senior associate with DIALOG Design. He volunteers as a UAlberta Senator.

Sushmitha Thirumalaivasan is a doctoral student in chemical engineering and is an active supporter of higher education. She volunteers her time as a mentor with our Female Engineering Mentorship (FEM) program, which connects high-school girls with engineering students and professionals. She also volunteers as a presenter with the USchool program operated by the UAlberta Senate.

Fraser Forbes is the former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (2015-2021). He earned his PhD in chemical engineering here and led the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering for 15 years.

Shoma Sinha is steeped in the world of nanotechnology. She holds a PhD and an MBA in innovation and entrepreneurship. She’s an executive member of the WISER mentorship team, and works as a senior advisor of advanced technologies with the Government of Alberta.
