Zion Yua, M.Eng., P.Eng., PMP

Associate | Assistant Manager, Thurber Engineering

Zion is an Associate with Thurber Engineering and currently serves as Assistant Manager for the Edmonton office. He is a proud double-alumnus of U of A after completing his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering – Environmental Engineering Option in 2011 and an M.Eng. in Geoenvironmental Engineering in 2019. Zion joined Thurber after graduating in 2011 and primarily worked in the environmental engineering field over the years with a focus on contaminated sites. After gaining skills and experience in the consulting engineering industry, Thurber sponsored Zion to return to U of A from 2017 to 2019 to get his M.Eng. degree. Since earning his M.Eng., Zion returned to Thurber and continued working in industry and recently made the shift towards management. Outside of Thurber, Zion likes to stay involved with the U of A and in industry. He has previously served as Chair of the Engineering at Alberta Young Alumni Council (ENGGYAC) and served one term as President of the Geotechnical Society of Edmonton
