When registering for new EASIA courses

A reminder for everyone registering for classes. All content courses are now under new EASIA names, please check earlier posts for the detailed list. Also, if you have any problems registering in a course due to prerequisites, please see Heather at the department office in Pembina Hall. She will need your name, student ID, the course you're trying to enroll in and which prerequisite(s) you have for the course in order to enroll you manually. Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language

The Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Alberta will be hosting TOCFL (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language) this year. The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) is a standardized language proficiency test, which is developed by the Mandarin Training Center, the Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, and the Psychological Testing Center of National Taiwan Normal University. The test is used to assess and to certify the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers. The test will be held on April 24, 2015 at 1:00pm, and the registration deadline is on March 20, 2015 (Friday). (...more)

2015 Chinese Bridge Competition

We are happy to announce the third annual Chinese Bridge competition for Alberta university students, to be held on Saturday March 15 on the U of A campus. The Chinese Bridge contest is an excellent and fun opportunity to display your Chinese language and performance skills! There are prizes for participants, and in past years the winning entrant has won an all-expenses-paid trip to represent western Canada on Chinese television in the international Chinese Bridge competition. Take the plunge and join students from all over the province in the Chinese Bridge competition on March 15!
