A Conversation about Ukraine at Edmonton Public Library

On 12 April, CIUS Director Natalia Khanenko Friesen and Kule Ukrainian Canadian Studies Centre (CIUS) Director Jars Balan will join MacEwan University's Jeff Stepnisky for an online panel discussion about Ukraine. The conversation will be moderated by CBC Edmonton's Nancy Carlson.
They will examine the Russian invasion of Ukraine and speak about its social and historical contexts. Other topics explored will include the Ukrainian diaspora in Alberta, Ukrainian identity, the effects of misinformation and disinformation on social media, and the present war's broader implications for democracy globally.
This conversation is hosted by the Edmonton Public Library as part of their City of Learners program.
