Online webinar on long term teacher professional development programs between Canada and Ukraine: Successes and Prospects

On May 10, a first time online webinar was held to share professional experiences of teacher exchanges between Canada and Ukraine. 

During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn about the history and current state of cooperation on two projects in the field of education. Activities from a relationship of over 20 years between Saskatchewan and teachers from Ternopil were described by Nadia Prokopchuk and Dr. Olena Huzar, with special emphasis on a recent exchange for teachers of English. The Ontario Lviv project, initiated in 1993, was presented by Bohdan Kolos and Borislaw Bilash II and included workshops for
administrators, teachers of students with special needs, and teachers of science. Both of these projects offered participants professional teacher qualification credits in Ukraine.

The following aspects were discussed during the webinar:
- the history of the exchange program;
- the organization of Canada Ukraine educational projects;
- the importance of long term relationships between Canada and Ukraine Ukraine; and
- the impact of projects on the educational environment of Canada and Ukraine.

A lively discussion revealed the benefits of the program to participants in Ukraine and the inspiration drawn by Ukrainian Canadians from teachers in Ukraine. This webinar opened up new opportunities for further discussion of cooperation in education between Canada and Ukraine and contributes to strengthening the educational networks in both countries.

10 травня вперше відбувся онлайн вебінар з обміну професійним досвідом у сфері педагогічних обмінів між Канадою та Україною. 

У часники вебінару мали можливість дізнатися про історію та сучасний стан реалізації двох про є ктів у сфері освіти. Надія Прокопчук та Олена Гуза р розповіли про взаємодію , що трива є вже понад 20 років між Саскачеваном та Тернопол ем , зробивши особливий акцент на нещодавньому проєкті з обмін у вчителями англійської мови. Богдан Колос та Борислав Білаш розповіли про започаткований у 1993 році проєкт Онтаріо Львів, який включав семінари для адміністра цій закладів освіти, вчителів з особливими потребами та вчител ів природничих дисциплін.

- важливість довгострокових відносин між Канадою та Україною
- значення та вплив про є ктів на освітнє середовище Канади та України.

Жвава дискусія виявила переваги програми для учасників в Україні та натхнення, яке черпають українські канадці від українських у чителів Цей вебінар відкр иває нові можливості подальшої співпраці в галузі освіти між Канадою і Україною та сприяє зміцненню освітніх мереж в обох країнах.
