Report to the Community 2023-24

Letter from the Director

Since I began my journey as the Director of Campus & Community Recreation (CCR) in January 2023, I've had the privilege of witnessing the profound impact that recreation and wellness have on our vibrant community. Our leading purpose at CCR is to create opportunities for social and physical well-being, recognizing the essential role these elements play in fostering a thriving campus environment.

Extensive research has shown the undeniable benefits of recreation and leisure on individual well-being. More importantly, there's a strong link between well-being and academic success. We are passionate about offering diverse and inclusive ways for our communities to lead active, healthy and enriching lives, both on campus and beyond.

This past year was no exception. It was a year marked by growth, innovation and impact. From the opening of new recreational facilities to offering a wide range of student employment opportunities, CCR has been at the forefront of enhancing the quality of life for our community. We've provided hundreds of wellness opportunities, both virtually and in person, to ensure that everyone has access to the resources they need to prioritize their health and well-being.

As we move forward, our focus remains steadfast: to excel in what we do best, to pursue our passions, and to drive initiatives that not only enhance the well-being of our community but also contribute to the financial sustainability of our programs. We are committed to creating spaces and opportunities that inspire and empower you to live your best life.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we will continue to build a healthier, happier, and more connected community.
