Report to the Community 2022-23
Letter from the Director
2022-2023 was a year of inspiring and empowering exceptional life experiences through recreation, sport and wellness at the University of Alberta under the leadership of Cheryl Harwardt. In March of 2023, Cheryl Harwardt retired from being Director after a long career in Campus & Community Recreation.
I was appointed as the new Director in January 2023. I have a long history at the U of A starting with my undergrad in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation and continued work in U of A sport and recreation settings for the past 17 years.
I want to thank Cheryl Harwardt for her leadership of CCR over the past several years. Cheryl set CCR up for many successes and I am excited to start this new journey and continue the strong dedication to supporting our communities. In CCR, we are passionate about providing opportunities for our communities to experience health and wellness. We do this by providing facilities, services and activities to encourage human connection and enhance the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and community members. As I begin this new exciting opportunity, I look forward to supporting CCR’s existing initiatives and creating exciting new opportunities in the years ahead.
