We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Nirupan Vipulananthan as the Director of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Dr. Vipulananthan received his medical training at the University of Alberta, his residency training at the University of Saskatchewan, and completed a fellowship in Anesthesia Education Design at Stanford University.
He is a valued member of both the Royal Alexandra Hospital and University of Alberta Hospital Anesthesiology Departments. He has a distinct passion for medical education and is heavily involved at the PGME level, with a focus in digital platforms and curriculum design.
As CME director, his primary role will be to increase engagement through various initiatives including the application of education theories to restructure grand rounds and encourage a multi-site digital forum. Moving forward, he will work to ensure activities are focused on individual staffs' educational goals, with impact on daily clinical practice.
