Dr. Shaw and Dr. Ting are pleased to recognize the following outstanding achievements of three of our residents: Dr. Mike Little, Dr. Nicholas Amyotte and Dr. Matthew Kokotilo. These residents received awards in their respective categories at the 2018 Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society Annual Meeting in Montreal, QC.
Dr. Matthew Kokotilo presented his research abstract, titled "Correlation Between Maternal and Fetal Hemoglobin at Cesarean Section", and was awarded first place (best abstract) in the obstetric anesthesia category. This abstract also won second place in the resident oral presentation competition
Dr. Nicholas Amyotte's research project, titled "Motor evoked potential (MEPs) under isoflurane anesthesia in rats are increased with buspirone and levodopa/carbidopa"received the award for best abstract in the neuroanesthesia category.
Dr. Mike Little's research project, titled "Total intravenous vs inhaled anesthetic for intraoperative visualization during endoscopic sinus surgery" received the award for best abstract in ambulatory anesthesia. Dr. Little has also presented this work at the American Rhinologic Society Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. In addition to Dr Kokotilo, Drs. Amyotte and Little were also finalists in the resident oral competition.
