Opportunity Overview

Trainee Travel Awards are intended to provide travel and accommodation support for students wanting to present diabetes-related research at major national or international meetings. There are a limited number of Trainee Travel Awards available per year.

Applications may be submitted at any time during the year; however, you must submit your application prior to your travel dates.

Eligibility and Conditions

  • Your supervisor must be an ADI Member
  • Full-time graduate and postdoctoral trainees are fully eligible to apply ONCE during your
    graduate degree / postdoctoral training
  • Undergraduate student applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • $500 within North America
  • $1000 outside of North America

If your application is approved for a Trainee Travel Award, funding will not be released until travel is completed.  Students should acknowledge the Alberta Diabetes Institute and the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
