Research Areas
Areas of Research
The Alberta Diabetes Institute is a fully integrated research institute that spans the full spectrum of translational research from molecular mechanisms in cells to clinical research and health outcome studies. Research at Alberta Diabetes Institute is divided into five areas of research with researchers work together as a team to answer the difficult questions in diabetes research.
Clinical Research
Clinical research is a key link between discoveries or theories related to potential treatments and translating that towards general health care practice.
The Alberta Diabetes Institute houses clinical research that allow investigators to readily translate their discoveries towards application. Clinical research includes regulatory-driven biomedical trials and grant funded nutrition, metabolic and physical activity studies.
