Funding Your Degree

Scholarships and Awards

The U of A administers more than $46 million in undergraduate financial support, including awards specifically for out-of-province students.

  • Fly Home Award — Out-of-province Canadian students with a strong sense of community could receive up to $1,500 to help them stay connected to home.
  • National Achievement Award — The top incoming out-of-province Canadian students will receive $30,000 (payable over four years).

Work-Integrated Learning

Our graduates have an employability rate of third in all of Canada and 87th in the world. Our work-integrated learning opportunities can help you stand out and enhance your employability. Co-ops, practicums and internships are available in all direct-entry faculties, and the Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI) and faculty-led field schools provide opportunities for undergraduate students to pursue research projects as early as their first year.
