Admission Requirements
Admission to all undergraduate programs at the University of Alberta is competitive and subject to availability of space.
In order to be considered for admission, you must meet the admission requirements outlined for your program(s) of choice. Course Requirements
All undergraduate programs that offer direct entry from high school require the completion of five specific Grade 12 subjects; these will vary by program, but will always include English 30-1 (or the equivalent in your province). To see the specific course requirements for each program, see the program listing.

The University of Alberta provides a wide range of programs, from highly accessible to highly competitive.
In order to be considered for admission, you need to present a competitive average for your faculty/program of choice, based on the required courses for that program. It is important to consider admission average range trends when selecting programs on your application for admission. Selecting a program with accessible admission average trends for your second choice will provide you with the best chance of receiving an offer of admission.
The competitive average for each faculty/program may change throughout the year, based on a number of factors, such as the competitiveness of the applicant pool.
Meeting the minimum or competitive average does not guarantee admission, and space in each program is limited.

All undergraduate applicants must possess an adequate level of English Language Proficiency (ELP) in order to be admissible. Some programs in the Faculty of Education and in Health Science-related fields (such as Nursing) will also require Spoken English Proficiency (SEP).
Most Canadian applicants will meet the ELP requirement automatically by having completed at least three years of full-time education in English in Canada. Otherwise, there are several ways to demonstrate ELP through specific high school coursework or language exam scores (Duolingo, IELTS, TOEFL)
French is the primary language of instruction at Campus Saint-Jean. All applicants to Campus Saint-Jean must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken French (Compétence dans la langue française).

In order to submit your application, you must submit an application fee of either CAD $125 application fee (for new applicants to the University of Alberta) or CAD $75 (for current or previous University of Alberta students). This application fee is non-refundable. Please note: the application fee varies for professional program applications, please check their website for more information.
Other Requirements
