At our facility, we offer a range of comprehensive fitness assessment services tailored to meet your individual needs and goals. Our commitment to accuracy and precision ensures that you receive valuable insights into your body's metabolic rate, composition, and overall fitness levels.

Resting Metabolic Rate Determination (RMR) and Body Composition - $185

At rest, laying still and comfortably for 30-60 minutes, we can measure your exchange of gases to determine the number of calories your body burns while at rest. This resting metabolic rate caloric number can be used to give insight on the number of calories needed to achieve weight loss goals or ensure your athlete is consuming enough calories for training. Included would be body composition using the Underwater (Hydrostatic) Weighing technique.  One of the most valid and reliable indirect methods for determining body composition, hydrostatic weighing measures total body mass underwater. From that (And Archimedes’ principle of buoyancy) we are able to determine body density and estimate a fat percentage with 2-4% accuracy.

Testing takes approximately two hours.

NOTES:

  • In order to complete this test, you will be completely submerged in water.
  • Refer to individual test descriptions for testing details.

VO2max and Body Composition- $185

This is the single best test for measuring aerobic fitness. With the metabolic system, we are able to measure the body’s ability to use oxygen at an efficient rate during muscular work. The maximal oxygen consumption value (VO2max) is a measure of the maximal rate at which oxygen can be taken in, transported and used to perform muscular work.

Advanced Fitness Assessment - $250

This is a full assessment that will test all the fitness components.  Tests include VO2max for aerobic endurance, Hydrostatic weighing for body composition, and a selection of Muscular strength, endurance, power and flexibility.   Results are compared to normative North American data and athlete data.

Testing takes approximately two and a half (2.5) hours.

Athlete Combine Testing - cost varies by size of team and testing types

Along with testing our varsity athletes year round, we also provide any amateur and elite teams or clubs with combine testing. The combine testing can be customized to your team and sport to include test determinations of anthropometrics, strength, power, endurance, speed, agility and flexibility.  We are able to compare every individual with varsity level scores for each test. Are there specific tests your club needs performed that are essential to your sport? Please inform us and we can cater to these tests.

Need us to come to you? We can pack up our gear and meet you in the Edmonton or surrounding areas for testing.

What to bring:

  • comfortable workout wear including runners and water bottle.
  • Signed consent and GAQ forms.
