Overview
What the Program has to offer:
- An exploratory program in its 2nd year that allows students the flexibility to experience the Ukrainian language and culture in one location.

Study at the University of Warsaw located in Warsaw, Poland which was named the European Best Destination of 2023.
The U2 Ukraine program is organized by the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies with support from the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies and Community organizations.

Program Information
- A four-week program focused on studying Ukrainian in Warsaw, a rich centre for Ukrainian culture, and also known for its architecture, museums, cultural sites and cuisine.
- Students will have an opportunity to enroll in either Intermediate or Advanced language-level sections.
- Collaboratively we will explore the “Ukrainian Warsaw” and its cultural aspects through a number of excursions, engagements with the Ukrainian community, workshops, and participation in Ukrainian events, including explorations of Ukrainian cuisine in Warsaw.
U2 UKRAINE:
Ukrainian language (Intermediate or Advanced)
Option A: ★6 credits: Intermediate language proficiency
*6 credits: UKR 211 “Intermediate Ukrainian I” + SLAV 299 “Ukrainian Cultural Moments”
[UKR 112 pre-requisite or an equivalent language proficiency/consent of the department]
Option B: ★ 6: credits Advanced Language Proficiency
*6 credits: UKR 300 “Ukrainian Through Its Living Culture ”
[UKR 212 pre-requisite or an equivalent language proficiency/consent of the department]
Note: students can also register for Advanced language proficiency option as UKR 400; please discuss with the instructor.
Fees & Costs
Education Abroad Nomination Fee: $250.00 CAD
Tuition based on *6 credits; airfare; reasonable living expenses and accommodations at the University of Warsaw.
Additional program fees to be confirmed at a later date (cultural visits to Ukrainian sites).
Housing
Accommodation options in Warsaw for the duration of the program will be updated shortly.
