- Japanese Language Classes will be conducted for three hours each weekday morning, providing an intensive and thorough introduction to the Japanese language. Particular emphasis is placed on oral communicative skills, which is the most difficult element of language learning when studying in North America. - Japan Studies
A series of lectures complements the language curriculum by giving students a general overview of Japanese culture. Lectures are conducted by specialists in business, history, sociology, and traditional culture and focus on topics such as business, history, sociology, and traditional culture. In addition to becoming familiar with the finer aspects of Japanese culture in class, students can participate in various fieldwork activities each week to reinforce what they have learned. - Held at Ritsumeikan University (Kinugasa Campus) located in northwestern Kyoto, a 1,200-year-old city rich in culture and art
