What the University has to offer:
- One of the top universities in France
- Located in Nantes, a city known as "the Venice of the West" due to its location on the river delta of the Loire, the Erdre, and the Sèvre. It is ranked 6th (out of 44) among French cities as a great place to live and study and is about 50 km from the Atlantic coast. Nantes was the first French city to receive the title of "European Green Capital" in 2013, the "Green Flag Award" in 2022, and was recognized as the European Capital of Innovation in 2019.

- Extensive academic programs; with 11 faculties, 6 Institutes, 2 Schools (School of Engineering - Polytech Nantes and School of Teacher Education - INSPE), 1 Science of the Universe Observatory and provides instruction in areas such as law, medicine, pharmacy, history, physical activity and sport, economics, and teacher training
- Nantes has different campuses: Nantes (where most of their programs are taught), Saint-Nazaire, La Roche sur Yon.

Students wanting to go on exchange to Nantes Universite need to have completed 2 years of university-level studies before the exchange starts.
Nantes Universite also asks for a level B1 in French from almost all exchange students, so they can interact and integrate themselves quickly with others. The only exception to the B1 French expectation would be for students wanting to study in their Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences and History where the requirement would be B2. There may be other faculties or departments requiring a B2 level. Free French support courses are offered to exchange students during the academic year.
