PhDr. Stanislav Štěpáník, Ph.D., works at the Czech Language Department at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He also works as an upper-secondary school teacher. He specializes on Czech language didactics and on L1 comparative didactics. He supports the contacts of Czech, Slovak and Polish L1 didactics (co-editor of Teaching of National Languages in the V4 Countries, 2016, co-author of Vztah jazyka a komunikace v česko-slovensko-polském didaktickém kontextu, 2019), author of Vztah tradice a inovace ve výuce češtiny (2020) and the main author of the newest didactics of Czech language Školní výpravy do krajiny češtiny: didaktika českého jazyka pro základní školy (2020), in which he introduces the innovative conception of teaching Czech called Communicative Teaching about Czech Language. He is a member of ARLE – International Association for Research in L1 Education – and SIG EduLing – Special Interest Group for Educational Linguistics of ARLE.
