Teach in Innsbruck, Austria - NOW OPEN
The Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies is pleased to announce that the University of Alberta's Arts Faculty Exchange Agreement with the University of Innsbruck, Austria, will be put into effect again this year. "The University of Innsbruck was founded in 1669 and is one of Austria's oldest universities. Today, with over 26,000 students and 4,000 staff, it is western Austria's largest institution of higher education and research." (From the University of Innsbruck website)
By the terms of this agreement, each university sends a visiting professor to the other for a period of about one month. Airfare is paid by the sending university and accommodation and a small honorarium are paid by the host university. One faculty member will be sent to Innsbruck in May 2025 (for a 4-week teaching block in the University of Innsbruck's Spring Semester). Faculty members from all disciplines within the Faculty of Arts are invited to apply. Past UAlberta Arts Faculty participants have come from a number of different departments, including Modern Languages and Cultural Studies, Music, Drama, Philosophy, and History and Classics. Full-time faculty in fields represented in the Faculty of Arts and associated with the Campus St. Jean, Augustana Campus, and St. Joseph's College are also eligible to apply.
Knowledge of German, while an asset, is not a requirement. Teaching will be carried out either in English, French or German according to the needs of the University of Innsbruck and the wishes of the visiting faculty member.

Teach in Katowice, Poland - NOW OPEN
The Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies is pleased to announce the following call for applications for the University of Alberta's Arts Faculty Exchange Agreement with the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
With almost 40,000 students, the University of Silesia is one of Europe's largest universities. Although the university's primary campus is located in Katowice, the university also has campuses in Cieszyn, Chorzów and Sosnowiec. The Upper Silesian Metropolitan Area has a population of approximately 5.3 million people. The Katowice urban area is one of the largest urban zones in the European Union and Katowice International Airport is Poland's third busiest airport.

Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is the oldest and largest university in Hungary and it is the most popular higher education institution among applicants each year. As the leading research university in Hungary, the name of ELTE means knowledge, opportunities, competition, openness and community.
