Nazir Kassamali

Nazir is a Chartered Accountant and a Management Consultant. After twenty years of progressive experience at a senior managerial level with Alberta Government, Nazir joined Deloitte Consulting as a senior consultant and provided expertise in business process management and in implementing enterprise resource planning systems to various clients in North America with a focus on Governments, Universities, Hospitals and non-profit organizations. Currently, Nazir is working as an independent consultant.
He completed a two-year international voluntary assignment, from 2006 to 2008, as the Director of Finance and Administration with a newly established University of Central Asia which was founded in 2000 by the governments of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan, and His Highness the Aga Khan. It is the world's first internationally chartered institution of higher education.
Nazir also worked at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan as a volunteer for two years to assist the University in implementing a new state-of-the-art Enterprise Resource Planning System.
Nazir has volunteered with various non-profit organizations in Edmonton such as Terra Centre for Teen Parents, United Way as a departmental campaign chairperson, Aga Khan Foundation Canada as a walk-a-thon fundraising coordinator and as the President of the Royal Gardens Community League in Edmonton.
