Coaching at the Saville Curling Centre

Youth Curling

These fall and winter curling programs offer youth an ideal blend of instruction and games. Curlers are required to wear clean, indoor runners or curling shoes and warm athletic gear. All other curling equipment is provided.

U9 Little Rocks (Age 6-9)

  • Participants use specially designed half-weight 'little rocks'
  • Curlers are required to bring and wear a CSA approved helmet on the ice at all times
  • Suitable for all skill levels

U12 Big Rocks (Age 10-12)

  • Participants will use regular full-weight rocks
  • Suitable for all skill levels

U15 Curling (Age 12-14)

  • Two 90-minute on-ice practice sessions per week
  • Runs from October to March

Interested in being a youth curling coach?

If you or someone you know may be interested in coaching at either a U15 or U18 youth level, please contact dana.ferguson@ualberta.ca. No extensive experience is required, but those interested should have a curling background and a general understanding of the game.
