Spring & Summer Curling

Saville Curling Centre is proud to have one of the longest curling seasons of any facility in the world.

Our summer ice allows for unique programming for curlers of all ages and skill levels.

Youth Summer Camps

The SCSC is pleased to offer Summer Curling Camps through the Green & Gold Sports System at the University of Alberta for participants from 6 to 14 years of age. Both Little Rocks and Big Rocks camps use rocks sized for the participant age group and are coached by current and former Golden Bears and Pandas curling team members.

While club brushes and sliders will be provided to those who need them, each little rock curler (under 12) is required to have their own CSA-approved helmet, and all campers must wear a pair of clean indoor running shoes. No previous curling experience is necessary.

Approximately half the camp is spent on Saville Community Sports Centre curling ice learning delivery and sweeping skills. The other half of camp will be spent taking part in our innovative AIM program, which combines age-appropriate physical and mental activities through carefully selected multi-sport experiences. Please bring athletic clothing and a water bottle for AIM training.

Kevin Martin's Green and Gold Curling Academy

The Saville Centre is proud to be the home of Kevin Martin's Summer Green and Gold Curling Academy (KMSCA), which provides world-class coaching to elite junior curlers from across the country.

One of the key elements of the KMSCA's success over the years has been the quality of the instructional staff that we have been able to assemble. Along these lines, in addition to Kevin Martin and Rob Krepps, we have confirmed that Garry Coderre, Dana Ferguson, Karrick Martin and more, will be providing expert instruction!

The Saville Centre believes that instructional expertise, combined with world-class facilities and playing conditions creates an unparalleled learning experience for young curlers. With this in mind, we hope to have the opportunity to work with you at the 2024 edition of the KMG&GCA. Visit and Like us on Facebook to view photos from KMSCA.

This year's team and individual camps will be held August 23-25, 2024.  Registration will begin April 1st.
