Restricted Sports
To protect and maintain our facilities, some sports within the facility are restricted.
Based on the quality of the flooring within the facility and the cost of ongoing maintenance, it is important to establish acceptable use of the gymnasium floor. Considerations for determining if a sport should be restricted are:
→ Potential for damage to floors
→ Potential for damage to walls, score clocks, or other amenities
→ Requirement for on-site storage
→ Requirement for netting, caging or other paraphernalia to be raised into the building rafters:
- Set up and takedown requirements
- Disruption to other users
- Lining requirements (absolutely no tape of any kind is permitted on the floors or walls)
Based on these criteria, the following sports are restricted from use:
- Indoor Soccer/Futsal
- Floor/Field Hockey
- Dancing - tap dance or other dances that have a distinctive wear pattern
- Lacrosse
- Handball
- Wheelchair Rugby
- Rugby/football
- Baseball/Softball
- Cricket
- Broomball
- Any sport with music that could cause disruptions to other user groups
- Any other sports or activities are subject to be reviewed and must be approved by our Facility Manager.
Please note:
- Sports, running and warm-up activities are NOT permitted in the hallways, lobbies, or mezzanine areas of the building.
- Bikes, scooters, skateboards, inline skates, wheelie shoes, and cleats are not allowed in the building.
- Any remote-controlled devices (drones and remote-controlled cars) are not allowed in the building
