Libraries
UAlberta is home to Canada's second-largest research library. Our collection has over 4.7 million titles, 8.7 million volumes, with access to over 1.3 million e-books, over 1,700 databases and over 40,000 items in our education and research archive. UAlberta libraries is also home to the Bruce Peel Special Collections-over 100,000 rare books and archival materials covering diverse local and international subjects. Throughout the year, the Bruce Peel Special Collections also presents a number of diverse exhibitions.
Our libraries also provide various research support and services including: research data management, publishing advice and support, copyright assistance, open journal access and 3D printing services to name a few. The libraries also maintains database subscriptions and can help researchers analyze their research impact.
Museums & Collections
The University maintains 29 museum collections, containing over 17 million objects, housed in 120 locations across campus that range from art and archeology, to paleontology and zoology, to our botanic garden. Our collections are used for research and teaching activities, exhibitions, and programs, such as lectures, workshops, children's programs, and family days.
