In 2010, the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) developed a framework for patient safety and quality care for our health system. We have applied the HQAC's five building blocks for patient safety as a framework to organize the content of resources. The resources below are Canadian-based, or open access publications.
- Environment & Equipment
Environment and equipment focuses on the environmental design and availability of equipment to support safe, quality care (HQCA, 2010). Identifying design and equipment needs and developing protocols and checklists, are key factors, as well as data management.
