Bert van Duin Biography
Bert van Duin, M.Sc., P.Eng. founding member and past president of the Alberta Low Impact Development Partnership, is the Drainage Technical Lead at the City of Calgary Water Utility, where he is responsible for supporting the evolution of Calgary’s stormwater management practice. As part of his responsibilities he also chairs the Drainage Knowledge Program which oversees various research activities associated with stormwater capture and use as well as rainwater harvesting. He is adjunct professor at the Universities of Calgary and Alberta, and, as chair of the Green Infrastructure for Stormwater Technical Committee, is also greatly involved with the creation of national stormwater management guidance and standards under the auspices of the Canadian Standards Association including the Rainwater Harvesting standard.
