Archival Research Resources

This page is intended for community members, researchers, and individuals engaged in work to find missing children and unmarked burials at residential school sites that are beginning the archival research process. It will explain where to get started, why archival research is relevant to this work, and how to find and utilize archival records for information. However, many of the resources and information contained here will be applicable to other types of archival research projects. 

This is not intended to be a comprehensive resource, nor does it contain all of the information you may need during this process. It is recommended to review some of the INTRODUCTORY GUIDES to understand the role of archival research in the overall search process and go over some important considerations. Additional resources, guides, and recommended reading that will help you in your research are listed throughout the site.
