How To Get Involved
The Institute of Prairie and Indigenous Archaeology has various ways to become involved or affiliated with the Institute. For opportunities specific to you, please see below.
There are a few ways for students to become involved in the IPIA community.
First, all current students (including undergraduate honours students and graduate students) and post-doctoral fellows working on IPIA affiliated projects are part of the IPIA Scholars program.
If you would like to receive credits for the work you are contributing to IPIA affiliated projects, consider working with the IPIA through a Community Service Learning program or an independent study to earn credits towards your degree. Email ipiafoa@ualberta.ca for more information.
If you are interested in volunteering with the IPIA on various archaeological and community projects, please look for open volunteer opportunities on the University of Alberta's Volunteer Portal. If you have specific research interests or a particular project you wish to volunteer for, please contact ipiafoa@ualberta.ca.
Scholars whose interests align with IPIA goals can use this form to apply to become IPIA Associates. Also consider becoming a post-doctoral fellow, or partnering with the IPIA on a joint research project.
If you are an Indigenous community interested in a research partnership or has research needs related to heritage, please reach out to the Director.
