Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunities
1. Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowships
Description: The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded to outstanding individuals who have recently completed a doctoral program. Appointments are for a period of two years, and includes a stipend of $50,000 per year, plus a one-time research allowance of $4,000. Departments may submit a maximum of one nomination for each Killam Fellowship priority group: one for Indigenous scholars, one for Black scholars and one for all (open) scholars.

2. Grant Notley Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship
Description: The Grant Notley Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship is a prestigious two year award geared towards researchers in politics, history, economy, or society of Western Canada or related fields. Appointments are for a period of two years, and is valued at $46,000 per year and includes a one-time $4,000 travel/research grant for the first year of the Fellowship.

3. Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships
Description: The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants. The objective of the program is to: (1) attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally; (2) develop their leadership potential; and (3) position them for success as research leaders of tomorrow. Appointments are for a period of two years, and is valued at $70,000 per year.

4. SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships
Description: SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships support new holders of PhDs in the social sciences and humanities. Appointments are for a period of one to two years, and is valued at $45,000 per year.
