Political Science Undergraduate Review expands to an online edition
PSUR - 1 October 2022
The Political Science Undergraduate Review (PSUR) is expanding its operations to include an online edition, which exists independently of the yearly peer-reviewed print version. The PSUR’s online expansion, called PSUR Online, is intended to be a way for political science students to submit and publish their work on a more casual basis. Students can submit op-eds, policy briefs, short-form essays, and blog-style posts - those which would not otherwise be eligible for publication in the print edition. It has more lenient editorial standards and does not follow the peer review model, and is mainly intended to be a forum for students to react in real time to current events, publish more opinionated and journalistic-style work, and get their work out into the political science community.
PSUR Online will take rolling submissions, and submissions are not limited to any particular discipline within political science. The only requirements are that submissions must be no more than 2000 words, that they have not been published in any previous University of Alberta publication (whether that be academic or otherwise, such as in a student newspaper), and that they adhere to the student code of conduct. The submissions portal can be accessed on the website www.psuronline.weebly.com. Questions can be directed to editor-in-chief Gavriel Kesik-Libin - kesiklib@ualberta.ca or psua.academic@gmail.com.
