New Faculty Member - Matthew Wildcat

The Department of Political Science is delighted to welcome Matthew Wildcat to our ranks, as of July 1, 2016.

Matthew Wildcat, CAST Instructor, Department of Political Science and Faculty of Native Studies

Matthew is currently completing a PhD in Political Science at University of British Columbia, where he is also a sessional instructor with the First Nations and Indigenous Studies program.

Matthew is Nehiyaw (Plains Cree) from the community of Maskwacis Alberta and is a member of Ermineskin Cree Nation. He will join the department as a contract instructor and transition to an assistant professor of Political Science and Native Studies upon the completion of his PhD.

Matthew is the assistant editor of Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society (decolonization.org), and has published in the Alberta Law Review and Journal of Genocide Research.
