Arya Sharma, Department of Medicine, member of Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI) and Alberta Diabetes Institute (ADI) was awarded the Master of the American Board of Obesity Medicine recognition award.
Todd Alexander, Department of Pediatrics, member of WCHRI, received a biomedical research grant over two years from the Kidney Foundation of Canada. His project is entitled "Phosphate source determines route of intestinal absorption: fundamental studies with dietary implications."

Students, Residents and Trainees
Congratulations to Danielle Clark-Perry, School of Dentistry, on receiving the SUNSTAR World Dental Hygienist Award for her Master's Project entitled "The Role of Loricrin in Severe (Formerly Aggressive) Periodontal Disease." The award was presented at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene, Brisbane, Australia.
Jenny-Lynn Senger, PhD candidate and plastic surgery resident, received the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons' resident research award in the basic science category. Well done!
Alexander Skojka (supervisor Adetola Adesita), was awarded the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)'s Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship.
Fatemeh Ramazani, a Department of Surgery resident , received a Summer Studentship in Health Professions Education scholarship sponsored by the IDEAS office.
Joseph Tatuene, NMHI PhD student, received the BMO Financial Group Graduate Studentship.
