A New Look for Your G Suite Apps

Watch out for a visual improvement coming to your G Suite apps.

A visual improvement is coming to Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Sites. This upgrade will roll out over the next few weeks, but may not be immediately visible in all accounts.

Although there are no changes to the apps’ functionality, users can expect to see the following visual changes:

  • New fonts using Google’s custom designed typefaces
  • Revised and consistent controls (e.g., buttons, dialogues, sidebars)
  • Updated and legible iconography

Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts were the latest apps to receive this update as part of a new and consistent design approach from Google. The update to Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Sites helps ensure that G Suite products share a common visual design.

This feature will be on automatically, and users can expect to see similar changes to other G Suite applications in the future. Keep an eye on IST’s Google news for future updates regarding these changes.
