Year in Review: Celebrating Biomedical Engineering's first research day

The Department of Biomedical Engineering celebrated collaboration and innovation with its inaugural research day on June 26. The event brought together faculty, students, industry partners and representatives from businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies to showcase the department’s commitment to advancing biomedical engineering.

Thirty presenters highlighted groundbreaking work across key themes, including precision health design, bionics, imaging and biomechanics. Graduate students from across the University of Alberta presented their innovative projects at the poster presentations, with several students taking home an award for best poster.

The department is tremendously proud of the event’s success and looks forward to celebrating more research innovation at future research days!
