About the Film:
Filmmaker Guto Pasko was born into a family of descendants of Ukrainian immigrants in the southern Brazilian state of Paraná. He left home at the age of eleven and maintained a distance from his birthplace for the next thirty years. Religious and cultural reasons were the source of the detachment. In this 98-minute-long film (Portuguese and Ukrainian with English subtitles), Pasko takes us into a journey of reconnection with his past in Queimadas, municipality of Prudentópolis, Paraná, and, through a visit paid to Ukraine with his parents, with ancestral roots.
