"CANADA-UKRAINE BILATERAL TRADE SINCE CUFTA” Adam Barbolet Trade Commissioner and Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of Canada in Ukraine
|
Adam Barbolet is the senior trade commissioner and commercial counsellor at the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, where he has served since 2017. Prior to that, he was the senior trade commissioner and vice-consul at the Canadian Embassy in Kazakhstan. Adam has worked for Global Affairs Canada since 2008. In addition to Ukraine and Kazakhstan, he has also lived and worked in London (UK), Kathmandu (Nepal), Iqaluit (Nunavut), and elsewhere in Canada. Originally from Vancouver, he holds a B.A. in political science from UBC and an M.A. public administration from the Queen’s School of Policy Studies.

Vasyl Kvartiuk is a senior researcher at the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle, Germany. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Halle-Wittenberg, in 2014. Before joining IAMO, he acquired his M.A. in economics and politics from the University of Freiburg, Germany. Apart from research, he has extensive experience consulting for state authorities, development agencies, and international organizations. His research interests include local governance, agricultural policies, and economics of land relations in developing countries.

Alexander Rodnyansky is an assistant professor of economics at the University of Cambridge (UK). His main research fields are international finance and macroeconomics. He was formerly the chief economic adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine (during the Honcharuk government). Alexander received his Ph.D. from Princeton University before joining Cambridge in 2017.

Vitaliy Milentyev has been managing investment portfolios of high-net-worth Canadians individuals and institutions for the past ten years. His tenure in the investment industry totals over eighteen years and spans across such disciplines as investment analysis, financial planning, asset allocation, and portfolio management. Born and raised in Odesa, Vitaliy obtained his M.A. in finance at the Odessa State Economic University (1999) and M.A. in economics from the University of Manitoba (2001). He has been actively involved in the Ukrainian Canadian business community in Alberta through the Alberta Ukraine Chamber of Commerce/CUDA since 2010. Over the years he has also served on the boards of community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Edmonton, Synergy Network, Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Alberta Provincial Council, and the Ukrainian Research and Development Centre at MacEwan University.
Oleksandr Pankieiev, Ph.D.
