Required Graduate Professional Development

Over the course of your graduate degree in Engineering, you will complete the following professional development components. Professional development requirements are tracked through eClass.

Self-enroll in the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page

For students admitted in Fall 2023 and beyond

  1. Complete an individual development plan (IDP) following the FGPS instructions
    • Upload your IDP Completion form to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
    • Deadline — within the first 12 months (MSc/MEng) or 18 months (PhD) of your program
  2. Attend 8 hours of professional development sessions relevant to your IDP

For students admitted prior to Fall 2023

Requirements specified by FGPS

  1. Complete an individual development plan (IDP) following the FGPS instructions
    • Upload your IDP Completion form to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
    • Deadline — within the first 12 months (MSc/MEng) or 18 months (PhD) of your program
  2. Attend 12 hours of professional development sessions relevant to your IDP
    • All FGPS PD activities scheduled through CampusBRIDGE are eligible
    • Upload PD Activities Completion form, along with your attendance record to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
    • Deadline — by program completion (MSc/MEng) or within 3 years from the start of your program (PhD)
