Doc. PhDr. Stanislav Štěpáník, Ph.D., works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Czech Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. He specializes in Czech language (L1) didactics and in L1 comparative didactics, and greatly supports the contacts of Czech, Slovak and Polish L1 didactics. Co-author of Teaching of National Languages in the V4 Countries (Faculty of Education, Charles University, 2016), Vztah jazyka a komunikace v česko-slovensko-polském didaktickém kontextu - Relation of Language and Communication in the Czech-Slovak-Polish Didactic Context (Karolinum, 2019), author of Výuka češtiny mezi tradicí a inovací - Teaching Czech Between Tradition and Innovation (Academia, 2020) and the main author of the newest didactics of Czech language Školní výpravy do krajiny češtiny: didaktika českého jazyka pro základní školy - School Journeys into the Country of Czech: Czech Language Didactics for Primary and Lower-Secondary Schools (Fraus, 2020), in which he introduces the innovative conception of teaching Czech called Communicative Teaching about Czech Language. He is a member of ARLE – International Association for Research in L1 Education – and SIG EduLing – Special Interest Group for Educational Linguistics of ARLE.
