Canadian Military, Veteran and Family Connected Campus Consortium (CMVF3C)
Background
Canadian Military Members, Veterans and their families are committed to the service of our country and integral to the fibre of our post-secondary and civilian communities. Military, Veteran & Family Connected Campuses support serving military members, Veterans and their families to meet their personal, academic and professional goals and create a social environment that recognizes their contributions to the public good.
The Canadian Military, Veteran and Family Connected Campus Consortium (CMVF3C) is a growing network of representatives from willing colleges, polytechniques, universities, CEGEP; the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Military Family Services, 3rd party providers, associated partners, military recruits, members and Veterans (MMVs) pursuing post-secondary education (PSE), and their families.
Vision
To leverage post-secondary education as a transforming force for those who serve, have served and their families, and a key enabler of recruitment, reconstitution, retention, transition and supporting the public good.
- Enable serving military members, Veterans and their families to meet their personal, academic and professional goals and create a social environment that recognizes their contributions to the public good;
- Ensure Equitable Access to post-secondary education;
- Create a Network of Military, Veteran and Family Connected Campuses across Canada (and with connections to other countries as appropriate);
- Coordinate Efforts across PSI and partners, including Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans Affairs Canada, Military Family Services and others
- Minimize Duplication of effort and resources;
- Enhance Alignment of priorities between signatories and partners;
- Ensure Sustainability of actions.
Purpose
- Co-design strategies that support the academic success of military (reservists and regular force) members training to effectively serve in the Armed Forces, Veteran students who are transitioning out of the military and into the civilian world, and their families as they pursue further education and training
- Support PSIs as they establish MVFCs
- Draw on the leadership and professionalism of military members Veterans and families for the public good
- Reduce duplication of and amplify and align efforts
- Create a toolkit of best practices and resources
