Altering Program Sequence
As per the University of Alberta Calendar - Faculty of Nursing Academic Standing and Regulation 11:
- Students who wish to alter the course sequence of their program as laid out in the calendar, or who have withdrawn from or failed a course must see the Nursing Academic Advisors immediately to discuss program completion options. Re-registration cannot occur without permission from the Faculty. Students will be competing for available space in nursing courses when returning. Students may be required to enrol in a refresher course prior to proceeding in clinical nursing courses in order to protect the public interest.
- Students must follow the required course sequence unless pre-approval is given for an alternate sequence. Students may not continue in their Nursing program if an alternate course sequence is not approved. Students must see the Nursing Academic Advisors immediately to discuss alternative program sequence and approval.
Starting Fall 2018, students altering course sequence may result in their program being delayed for an extended period of time as courses are generally only offered in one term and students cannot progress to the following year until all courses have been completed.
Students who wish to alter the course sequence of their program as laid out in the calendar, or who have withdrawn from or failed a course must see the Nursing Academic Advisors immediately to discuss program completion options. If you have already altered the sequence of your program and have not discussed program completion options, you still need to meet with the Nursing Academic Advisors.
NOTE: Re-registration cannot occur without permission from the Faculty and students will be competing for available space in nursing courses when returning. Students may be required to enroll in a refresher course prior to proceeding in clinical nursing courses in order to protect the public interest.
